The nominees are in for the Formex Formidable 2017 design award

The Formex interior design fair is the venue of choice for the best in Nordic home and interior design. That’s why Formex offers its own design award that showcases the best contemporary design. In the competition, Formex allows an expert jury to both select nominees and award the winner. The fair also gathers feedback from the general public – the People’s Choice – on the Formex website.

The 2017 jury consists of Synnöve Mork, textile designer; Dan Gordan, journalist; Kerstin Wickman, professor in the history of applied arts; Kajsa Falck-Torlegård from Formex; and guest jury member Daniel Svahn, designer.

To be nominated, the product must have been exhibited at Formex in the spring or fall of 2017. The product must be new for the year, and the jury judges its design and aesthetic qualities with regard to materials and production. The winner will be announced at the next Formex in January 2018. But until then, everyone can vote for their favorite in the People’s Choice category.

The award offers prize money for product marketing valued at close to SEK 100,000, and includes a free stand space at the next fair as well as an ad in the Formex catalogue and in an interior design magazine. People’s Choice is an honorary award.
