ZÜBLIN expands its range of services with electrical engineering, ITC and energy systems

• Acquisition of the building services engineering provider HUMMEL Systemhaus GmbH & Co. KG as part of an asset deal
• All personnel to be retained
• Business to be integrated into ZÜBLIN Subdivision Stuttgart under the existing name HUMMEL Systemhaus

Ed. Züblin AG is strengthening its expertise in the market for modern electrical engineering, ITC and energy systems through an acquisition. The German market leader in building construction and civil engineering is acquiring all employees, plants and equipment, as well as the brand name HUMMEL Systemhaus, as part of an asset deal from HUMMEL Systemhaus GmbH & Co. KG of Frickenhausen retroactively to 1 January 2020. Existing orders, business liabilities and the company’s real estate are explicitly not a part of the purchase. The family-owned company, founded in 1993, operates in the Stuttgart region in the three business fields of electrical engineering, IT and communication, and energy systems and generated a total output of around € 12 million with 53 employees in 2019. The transaction is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

As part of Ed. Züblin AG, the newly acquired entity is to be integrated as a separate business unit into ZÜBLIN’s Stuttgart subdivision. For this purpose, a new company is being set up to operate on the market under the old name of HUMMEL Systemhaus GmbH & Co. KG. The previous location in Frickenhausen near Nürtingen, south of Stuttgart, will also remain the seat of the new ZÜBLIN company. A long-term rental agreement is to be concluded with the previous owner for this purpose. The new company will complete existing HUMMEL Systemhaus orders as a subcontractor for the seller.
