ZÜBLIN Timber presents itself successfully at BAU 2017 in Munich

  • Timber engineering attracts great interest
  • State Secretary Adler informs himself about ZÜBLIN Timber’s range of products and services

More than 250,000 visitors came to BAU, the world’s leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems, held in Munich from 16 to 21 January 2017. ZÜBLIN Timber, one of the 2,120 exhibitors from 45 countries, was there to present its three business fields Construction Elements, Timber Construction and Turnkey Construction.

This year’s trade fair stand showcased many large, technically challenging timber construction projects in Germany and abroad, thus cementing the international expertise of ZÜBLIN, Merk Timber and STEPHAN Holzbau.

Timber construction solutions are increasingly interesting for construction clients, as witnessed by the consistently higher number of exhibitors in this field and by the numerous thematic forums in the BAU supporting programme. One contribution came from Züblin Timber. In the forum titled “New Dimensions: Timber as a Construction Material”, Anders Übelhack, Team Leader Acquisition, gave a presentation on the Stadtwerke Lübeck project that met with a very positive response. “I was surprised by the enormous interest after my talk. We ended up making a lot of personal contacts with potential clients, including with project developers,” says Übelhack.

For Züblin, the renewed presence at BAU was worth it. State Secretary Gunther Adler of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, who stopped by the ZÜBLIN Timber stand during the “Building with Timber” press tour, was impressed by the enormous scope of Züblin’s products and services.
