Biogen Idec and Sobi to donate 1 billion international units of clotting factor to support treatment of haemophilia in developing world

Biogen Idec and Sobi intend to produce one billion international units (IUs) of clotting factor therapy for humanitarian aid programs in the developing world. Initially, the companies have committed to donating up to 500 million IUs to the World Federation of Hemophilia over five years to support its efforts to raise the standard of care for people with haemophilia in the developing world.
