Tanita to use The Pharmacy Show to showcase how its body monitors help people combat the onslaught of ageing and obesity

Manchester, October 3, 2017 – Tanita Europe will be showcasing its innovative, low-maintenance, easy-to-use, no-fuss connected body measurement solutions that help people take control of their health at The Pharmacy Show, the largest, national conference and exhibition for community pharmacy professionals and their industry, at the NEC Birmingham, October 8 - 9. Tanita products will be exhibited on Booth PI27A and visitors will receive all the information they need to fulfil the needs of consumers wanting to understand their health condition and its impact on their body.

“Tanita’s can help boost drive consumer traffic and sustain loyalty to a High Street pharmacist by leveraging the growing health and weight management wave among older and young alike,” says Simon Bradeley, Tanita UK manager. He noted how helping a wide spectrum of health-related business activities from GP surgeries to health clubs has given Tanita a unique insight into the pressures of operating in High Street environments.

“Tanita is very focused on helping its partners running stores stay at the forefront of retail strategies by innovating fresh approaches to encourage shop loyalty and increase turnover,” Bradley said.

“For a pharmacy to embrace innovative products such as Tanita’s leading-edge body composition monitors and health mounting software can help consumers to prevent conditions and adjust and monitor their treatment and nutritional intake to meet health and wellness goals.”

Mounting health problems such as sarcopenia and obesity are causing huge public health problems across the UK, described as ‘the fat man of Europe’ by Terence Stephenson in Measuring Up, a report on the nation's obesity crisis by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC). Bradeley stresses that both problems require lifestyle changes that include encouraging people to pay heed to what they eat and exercise more, something that is encouraged by using a Tanita body monitor like the Tanita RD-545, a medical-grade segmental scale that allows users to check 20 types of body composition.

Tanita is a world leader in precision electronic scales and the innovator of the world’s first integrated body composition analyser for professional markets. Looking beyond scales to products that enable consumers to monitor their own health, Tanita’s goal is to help people enjoy healthier lives.

“The level of support we provide to High Street pharmacies is unmatched in the industry,” said Simon Bradeley.
