AdSpruce® Unveils Industry-First Mobile Video Advertising SDK for Mobile Web

London, UK – AdSpruce, the mobile video ad network, has just released their Software Development Kit (SDK). Developed in stealth for the last 18 months, the AdSpruce mobile web SDK enables the delivery and tracking of video advertising on any mobile device. Previously only smartphones could deliver video ad campaigns, but this industry-first technology makes it possible to reach feature phones and allows advertisers to deliver clickable video ads to all kinds of mobile devices. AdSpruce’s technology covers all of the complexities associated with mobile video delivery such as wide variations in screen size, bandwidth and processors as well as operating systems. The latest solutions draw more and more users to mobile TV and video, opening new opportunities for advertisers to reach consumers through highly engaging video adverts.

The inclusion of industry-standard tracking and location-based delivery means that advertisers can benefit from AdSpruce’s technology break-through. Prior to AdSpruce’s development, robust tracking and reporting was only possible on smartphones, however, AdSpruce’s solution also includes delivery, tracking and click-through for feature phones. The AdSpruce Native Ad Server inserts ads into video content or before a video starts. This means that mobile video advertising can reach consumers when they are fully immersed in the viewing experience, enhancing brand recall and product knowledge.

Publishers will be able to insert AdSpruce’s SDK into their sites once they have signed up to the AdSpruce Publisher Network. AdSpruce will then serve targeted ads for their audiences helping them to generate revenue from traffic which was previously not monetised.

Whilst the feature phone market has previously played a minor role for advertising, largely due to technology constraints, AdSpruce’s new technology opens the advertising market up to an estimated three billion feature phone users. Smartphones may be on the rise but feature phone sales are still on a par with smartphone purchases as stats reveal that 49.3% of the 426 million mobile devices sold in Q1 2013 were feature phones. With AdSpruce’s mobile video solution the differences between smartphones and feature phones can be considered obsolete.

AdSpruce CEO Ian Mullins stated, “Feature phones provide a significant opportunity to reach a new audience in established and emerging markets. The AdSpruce mobile web SDK technology was developed to capitalise on billions of feature phones in use today and the increasing demand for video ads on any device using the mobile web. Until the development of the AdSpruce mobile web SDK, advertisers have been unable to deliver video ads to feature phones users and therefore publishers could not monetise all of their mobile web traffic. The AdSpruce mobile web SDK provides an effective solution to deliver ads to all mobile devices and eliminate these concerns.”

With a host of premium TV and video publishers currently signed up and hundreds of advertising campaigns delivered, AdSpruce is emerging as a leader in the mobile video advertising industry.
