YAGER Announces Strategic Investment by Tencent

February 10, 2020: As reported by YAGER today, the Berlin-based game development studio will be receiving a strategic minority investment from Tencent. The fresh capital will be used to strengthen both YAGER’s development and publishing activities for their current title The Cycle and upcoming projects.

Tencent Games is a leading global platform for game development, publishing, and operations; and provides hundreds of millions of users with cross-platform interactive entertainment experiences. Tencent’s investment will leave the studio fully independent – all operations will continue under its current corporate structure and leadership.

YAGER is a fast-growing developer that recently moved into self-publishing. The company was founded 20 years ago and has been led since by the founding team. YAGER currently employs 110 people, working on competitive quest shooter The Cycle, a growing F2P multiplayer game available through the Epic Games Store, and other unannounced games in development.
