Leadership Team Adds Global Chief Marketing Officer and Global Chief Revenue Officer
Cologne, Germany -- July 13, 2017 –ESL, the world’s largest esports company, today announced several key global executive hires with extensive experience in their respective areas. As part of the new management team, Rodrigo Samwell has been named Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Martin Hubert as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Rodrigo Samwell joins ESL’s executive suite as global CMO, responsible for product marketing, brand strategy, communications, innovation, customer analytics, merchandising, licensing and sales channels. Samwell joins ESL from Vodafone Group, where he held a number of executive roles in marketing, strategy, digital transformation and commercial management at a global level. He was most recently Group Head of Marketing Strategy at Vodafone, a position that oversaw digital contextual marketing and esports, among other sectors. Samwell has more than 17 years of experience leading multi-national executive teams in the telecommunications and internet industries.
In his new role as global CRO, Martin Hubert will be responsible for growing ESL’s revenue worldwide. Hubert joins ESL from Zalando Media Solutions, where he held parallel roles of Vice President and CEO of nugg.ad, a subsidiary of Zalando. In these positions, he oversaw product development and data sales in over 15 countries. Hubert brings over 24 years of experience in sales leadership at internationally operating marketing and technology companies.
