ESL UK and Varsity Games Partner for Derby Series Leicester: Leicester University & De Montfort University

Students will play and operate all production and broadcast talent positions in the first in of Varsity Games’ new educational-competitive crossover events.

Varsity Games, in partnership and with support from ESL UK, are pleased to announce the first in the new Derby Series of events on the 11th March 2016.

The revolutionary event will not only give students in the city of Leicester a chance to decide once and for all who has the stronger League Of Legends roster, but will also see eighteen students operating all staff and broadcast talent positions – from Producer to Desk Host. The Derby Series therefore presents an educational opportunity for students looking to develop careers in esports.

Rob Black, of ESL UK, stated ‘We’re really excited to be involved in helping to facilitate, not just the next generation of Esports players from the UK, but also the next generation of Esports industry professionals. Being able to do that while supporting students in our local Leicester community makes this one of the highlights of our year so far.’
