Portugal will qualify but not the Czech Republic - according to Betclic Ambassador Ruud Gullit

LONDON. Portugal will survive the challenge from Edin Dzeko’s Bosnia in the Euro 2012 play-offs over the next couple of days according to Betclic ambassador Ruud Gullit.

The Dutch legend told Betclic.com: “Portugal have the match-winners to win this tricky tie and I am looking forward to seeing them in the tournament next summer."

But Gullit has warned Cristiano Ronaldo and his team-mates not to expect an easy ride against Bosnia-Herzegovina in the matches on Friday and Tuesday.

Gullit added: “This will be a cracking double-header and Portugal will really be threatened by this talented Bosnia side led by Manchester City’s Dzeko up front. In the end I think that Portugal will hold on to a draw away and win at home to qualifying for the Euro 2012 finals next summer.”

Romanian ace Dan Petrescu, also a Betclic ambassador, agrees with his former Chelsea team-mate. He said: “This match will feature two exciting teams and Dzeko is a great striker, but Portugal have a stronger side overall and will finish this tie off at home.

Gullit though thinks that we will see an upset in one of the other play-off matches with the former Dutch international picking Montenegro to defeat Czech Republic.

Gullit said: “Czech Republic is the favourite but I have a feeling that Montenegro can come up with a surprise here.  Montenegro drew both home and away with England in their qualifying group and that sends out a strong message and starts the warning signs in the Czech minds.”

Dan Petrescu is not in agreement with Euro 88 winning captain.

“Montenegro is not an easy side to beat and I think this will be very tight, but Czech Republic have a more experienced side at this level and will win,” said Petrescu.

Portugal pays 1.35 to go through while Bosnia is offered at 2.90 with Betclic.com.

Czech Republic is the strong favourite against Montenegro at 1.50 to qualify for next summer’s finals while the opponents pay 2.40 in odds.

Elsewhere in the Euro 2012 play-offs, Ireland is firm favourite to overcome Estonia at 1.38 while Croatia against Turkey is the closest battle of the four matches with Croatia priced at 1.72 and Turkey currently on even money to reach Poland and Ukraine next summer.
