BIMobject® launch Showcase™ and Assembly™

To meet the increasing demand from manufacturers to publish complete BIM
models, parts of proven solutions, good reference projects or practical model
examples for direct download, BIMobject® now adds Showcase™ and Assembly™ to its ecosystem of BIM content.

BIMobject® showcase™ and Assembly™ are available from today on the BIMobject® Portal. BIM professionals can download complete solutions from a manufacturer that demonstrates and communicates how the products and materials can be used in different scenarios and in the context of a building. Manufacturers can also build and upload assemblies, that consists of a combination of their own individual products, or together with products combined from other brands.

With the new technology BIMobject® also opens up the PCM/PIM based content management system for property owners and developers who wants to develop and create requirement models/assemblies and requirement objects to be used in the earliest stage in the design process. The objects and assemblies can be published on hidden Private Clouds which is controlled by the owner. All the objects will have the same ability as the manufacturer specific objects that enables updates, maintenance and control in the cloud based environment.

Construction companies will also have the possibility to use the new technology by uploading best case and well-known working solutions which is a combination of several brands. These BIMobject® Assembly™ can consist of several individual BIM objects put together in a solution to communicate standards and quality approved concepts. The construction companies have the same ability to maintain and upload their own content to the content management system and control who viewed and downloaded their Assembly™.

The new technology will be added to the portfolio of chargeable solutions for the general target group of paying customers to BIMobject®, the building and interior product manufacturers. Furthermore it will open new opportunities to sell BIMobject® solutions for building owners, standardization organisations and construction companies offering them a complete infrastructure with the new technology to publish, maintain and control their BIM content on the web.

To drive the technology BIMobject® have implemented new file formats to the BIMobject® Portal and also added new filters for better ways to find these examples. Manufacturers can upload these examples in their normal published catalogue of objects. The file formats and technology supported are ArchiCAD models as .PLA and ArchiCAD modules as .MOD, Revit models as .RVT and GRAPHISOFT BIMx® to enable users to immediately download a 3D model for viewing without using any CAD/BIM software.

BIMx is the 3D real-time viewer technology from GRAPHISOFT and BIMobject® will support the BIMx transfer site, where BIMobject® Showcase™ models from manufacturers will be uploaded to bring more visibility to the content. Implementation of the new file formats will be added to the BIMobject® Apps within shortly, which enables you to get the new models and assemblies straight into the BIM software with a simple click.
