Bury Market "fire" - it's business as usual

Bury Market is very much open for business following reports of a fire at the famous attraction on Monday evening.

A fire had started in a large bin belonging to the Mill Gate shopping centre, located between the Mill Gate and a delivery ramp on the market. Firefighters attended and put out the fire quickly.

Markets manager Andrew Heyes said: “Luckily the only damage caused was to a grill vent on a building, which was quickly replaced. Bury Market is very much open for business, with all stalls open and traders ready to welcome visitors from across the country as usual.”
