Roads notice - sewer works on Manchester Road, Bury

United Utilities are to carry out repairs to a collapsed sewer on Manchester Road, Bury at its junction with Parkhills Road and Radcliffe Road.

The work will start on Sunday 7 August and is expected to take one week: during this time, however, there is the potential for traffic to be delayed.

Traffic heading north towards Bury town centre will have to be diverted around the junction into the ‘wrong’ lane for a short distance. To do this will require the utilisation of temporary four way signals and consequently capacity at the junction will be greatly reduced. in order to keep the traffic moving, there will be no right turn into Parkhills Road. Again, in order to ease congestion, there will be no right turn for traffic coming out of Parkhills Road.

Signed diversion routes will be in operation for diverted traffic.
