Charities were handed a big boost as around 1,500 runners crossed the finish line of the Asda Foundation Bury 10K.
Maccabi sports and community club in Bury held its first smokefree football match to promote healthy behaviour to children, and was widely supported by parents asking for ‘more smokefree sports events to be smokefree for children’.
Three kind-hearted locals are celebrating a huge achievement after completing more than 100 hours of volunteering with I Will If You Will (IWIYW), the Bury-based female fitness movement delivered by Bury Council with National Lottery funds from Sport England.

Bury Council consists of six towns, Bury, Ramsbottom, Tottington, Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich. Formed in April 1974 as a result of Local Government re-organisation it was one of the ten original districts that formed the County of Greater Manchester.
