Press release -

Bannocks & Blood murder mystery event

Are you a fan of crime fiction? You are invited to take part in ‘A Shetland Murder Mystery Event’ at Bury Library on Thursday 29 June.

Volunteers are needed to play a variety of parts, with the audience left to work out ‘whodunnit’ and win a prize.

A murder has been committed at Shetland’s community Sunday tea, and Jimmy Perez has been held up on the mainland.

This event is inspired by crime writer Ann Cleeves, written to be used by libraries as a ‘thank you’ for their support in her career so far. Copies of her books will be available to buy on the night.

The event starts at 7pm, and tickets costing £4 (including refreshments) can be bought from Bury Library (0161 253 5872) or via Ticketlight at https://bury-council-libraries.ticketlight.co.uk/

  • Five volunteers are needed to take part in this event: four ‘witnesses’ (two men and two women, plus a person to chair the evening). There are no auditions and no rehearsals. To volunteer, email Fiona at f.e.parmanand@bury.gov.uk or call 0161 253 7510.
