Buses and budgets at Whitefield and Unsworth Township Forum

A wide range of local issues will be discussed when Whitefield and Unsworth Township Forum meets on Tuesday 19 November.

Bury Council will present its Plan for Change 3, seeking the public’s views on proposals to cut a further £2.2 million from the 2014/15 budget.

Also on the agenda is an update from First Bus on recent and proposed changes to the bus services in the area.

There will also be a police update and the usual open forum for the public to raise matters of local concern.

The meeting is at the Elms Community Centre in Green Lane, and starts at 1pm.

Before the meeting, at 12.30pm, there will be an opportunity to meet the recently appointed Sports Activators who will be encouraging women and girls to take up sport as part of a £2.5million pilot programme running in Bury.

Councillor Ann Audin, forum chair, said: “We have lots to discuss at this meeting, and it’s vital that we get the views of local people on such important matters as the council’s budget and services that so many of us rely on. Please come along and have your say.”
