Children’s “creepy” library challenge during holidays

Youngsters are invited to pop into their local library this summer to take part in all manner of creepy crafts and books.

Children are challenged to take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge (SRC), on the theme of ‘Creepy house’. If they sign up to the SRC and read six books over the long holidays, they will receive rewards.

Any child registered with the Children’s University (http://www.childrensuniversity.co.uk/ can be accredited for taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge.

Parents can also support their children by taking part in the adult reading promotion ‘Reading Rewards’. All those who complete the Reading Rewards will be entered into a prize draw for £50 of high street vouchers.  For further details, ask at your local library or see www.time-to-read.co.uk.

The Creepy House, Creepy Craft and Fun Activities cost £2 per session and are suitable for those aged 5+. Booking is essential.

Also, join us for a rugby themed event with amazing author Tom Palmer on Tuesday 13 August (10.30am-noon). This is a free event, but booking is essential and it’s only suitable for ages 5+.
