​Christmas activities at Bury and Ramsbottom libraries

Get into the Christmas spirit this year at one of our festive activities at local libraries for children and families.

The events are as follows:

  • Decorate your own gingerbread man – at Bury Library on Saturday 1 December (10.30am to 11.30am). The cost is £1 per person – no need to book.
  • Winter Tails - seasonal stories, songs and crafts for little ones and their grown-ups at Ramsbottom Library on Saturday 1 December (10am to 11.30am). Cost: £1.50 per child (places are limited). Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult
  • Sew your own felt decoration – an event for adults atBury Library on Wednesday 5 December (2pm to 3pm). No need to book, and the cost is £1 per person.
  • Cratchit’s Christmas Dinner - join us at Ramsbottom Library and listen to snippets from Charles Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol” including Cratchit’s Christmas Dinner. Enjoy a taste of steamed Christmas pudding, Dickens style! This is for adults and children aged 10 and above, and is held on Thursday 6 December (5pm to 6.30pm). Cost: £1.50 per person.
  • Christmas crafts - make a cool Christmas tree light at our ‘drop-in’ Christmas tree craft session for under-7s. Held at Bury Library on Saturday 8 December (10.30am to 11.30am). Each tree costs £1 (lights provided, while stocks last). No need to book, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Design your own Christmas paper and tags – this event for adults is held at Bury Library on Wednesday 12 December (2pm to 3pm). No need to book, just drop in. Cost: £1 per person.
  • Make your own pom-pom snowman or reindeer – for children, at Bury Library on Saturday 15 December (10.30am to 11.30am). No need to book, and the cost is £1 per person.
  • Eco-craft Christmas cards session for children – how to recycle old Christmas cards into new ones. Held at Ramsbottom Library on Saturday 15 December (10am to noon). Cost: £1 per child (free for adults). Children to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
