Family fairytales during Bookstart Week

A family fairytale day to celebrate National Bookstart Week (24-30 June) has been organised byBury Library Service and Home-start Bury.

The event is free with lots of activities including stories, cake decorating and colouring, and takes place at Bury Library on Saturday 29 June (10.30am–noon).

Bookstart is a national project run by the Booktrust and, co-ordinated through Bury Library Service, ensures that every baby and pre-school child receives a pack containing books and information to promote reading and book sharing: see http://www.bookstart.org.uk/

Since 1999, Home-start Bury has been helping very young children prepare for school by introducing them to books and a love of reading.  They match local parent volunteers with individual families who need a little support. For more information about Home-Start Bury, or to become a volunteer, call 0161 763 6335 or see http://homestartbury.org/
