Free audiobook loans for all

Did you know that free audiobooks can be borrowed at Bury libraries by anyone?

Until recently, free audiobooks on CD and tape were only available to customers who were blind or partially sighted and those who were registered for the home delivery service.

The change has proved very popular, with a steady increase in the number of library members borrowing audiobooks including non-fiction, crime and thrillers, sagas and romance, with new titles added each month.

A selection of 7,133 audiobooks is available at all four libraries, with the largest collections held at Bury and Radcliffe branches. Reservations can be made via an online catalogue (https://bury.ent.sirsidynix.net.uk/client/en_GB/default/) or at libraries using your membership card.

If you prefer, you can download e-audiobooks to listen to on your mobile device including your PC and mobile phone. There are no fewer than 5,338 e-audiobooks available to be downloaded for free. To register for the BorrowBox service, go to https://www.bury.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=14147 and have your library membership card handy.

Visit Bury Libraries web pages https://www.bury.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=10381 to find more on how to become a library member, view our online library catalogue, and much more.
