Press release -
Halloween happenings at Bury Market
Competition was fierce between Bury Market traders as they vied to be the winner of the Best Dressed Halloween Stall.
In the end, first prize was awarded to Steve Maloney and his staff at the Barbecue Barn in Bury Market Hall. F & V Brandwood in the Fish and Meat Hall and T Shirt Printing on the Open Market both received Highly Commended.
All winners received gift tokens to spend at a selection of restaurants.
Markets manager Andrew Heyes, who judged the stall entries, said: “It’s been very difficult deciding on our winners. Traders have put a lot of effort into decorating their stalls and dressing up and I would like to thank them all for joining in on what has proved to be a great day.”
Visitors to the market on Saturday were also treated to a visit from Oreo & Friends with their exotic petting animals – meerkats, skunk, tarantula and python. There were also free pumpkin painting activities and free Halloween face painting.
