Helping you to Be Online

Free sessions are being held during Be Online Week to help Bury residents ‘go digital’ and use the internet.

Be Online Week (22-26 February) encourages people to see how much can be done online – looking for work, staying healthy, managing money and keeping in touch with loved ones are all quicker and easier using the internet.

There are four free ‘drop in’ sessions – no need to book - all from 10am to noon:

  • Monday 22 February – Bury Library
  • Tuesday 23 February – Unsworth Library
  • Wednesday 24 February – Prestwich Library
  • Thursday 25 February – Ramsbottom Library

Bury Job Centre will be at the Bury Library event to help with any employment related queries.

Councillor Trevor Holt, Bury Council’s lead member for digital inclusion, said: “I attended one of these sessions last year, and I can fully recommend them as it helped me to feel more confident with technology.

“Maybe you’ve never touched a computer, tablet or smart phone before, or just need a little help to be more confident online. Whatever you’d like to do, we’re here to help.

“Staff will also show you how to use the council’s website for all manner of things, from checking your bin collection date to renewing a library book, booking a sports session or reporting a problem.”
