High tea, curry and poetry!

Thursday 4 October is National Poetry Day and residents are invited to High Tea and Poetry at Bury Library,Manchester Road, Bury.

Local group the Irwell Writers will read poems they have written while librarians will serve tea and cake, in a free event that starts at 2pm.

The food theme will continue on Thursday 11 October at Moorside Community Centre and Library. Poet Anjum Malik will rustle up some authentic Asian grub and explain how cooking inspires her poetry. Come along and listen, share your favourite recipes, and indulge in a taste of the exotic. The event starts at 7pm and costs £3 for library members (£4 for non-members) and includes refreshments.
