Press release -

It’s Volunteers’ Week – time to say Thank You!

The first week in June (1-7) is Volunteers’ Week, an annual campaign which celebrates the fantastic contribution volunteers make across the UK.

This year’s campaign focuses on saying “thank you” to the millions of volunteers who regularly contribute to society.

Councillor Sandra Walmsley, cabinet member for communities and community safety, said: “There are many opportunities to volunteer in Bury and the Bury Volunteer Centre provides services to both potential volunteers and to organisations that involve volunteers. This is in addition to departments in the council who also provide volunteering opportunities.

“In Bury we would like to add our personal thanks and express our appreciation and gratitude to everyone in our borough who gives their time, energy and commitment as a volunteer. Their work is invaluable.”
