Join us for World Book Night on Thursday

We might be in C-19 lockdown, but that won’t stop us celebrating World Book Night on Thursday (23 April).

A whole range of activities has been organised by Bury Library Service to keep us reading, rhyming and podcasting on the anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth.

Councillor Sharon Briggs, cabinet member for communities, said: “Reading for pleasure is something that so many Bury residents enjoy, and there’s no reason for that to stop now! It’s vital that we follow the guidance and stay at home and keep safe, but we can all keep in touch with the library service and support one another together.”

Why not get involved in one of the following ways?

#ReadingHour

Join us for our Reading Hour from 7-8pm on 23 April. What do you need to do to participate? Just read a book! Whether you're reading to yourself, reading to children before going to bed, or listening to an audiobook as you prepare your dinner, we want to you spend this hour with a book. Take a photo and share it on social media using #ReadingHour to see what others are reading and join in the celebration.
