Local businesses celebrate at the Made in Bury Business Awards 2017

After much anticipation, the winners of the Made in Bury Business Awards 2017 were announced on Thursday 23 November at a glittering ceremony here in Bury.

The Made in Bury Business Awards, in association with Bury Council, thebestofbury and Tower FM, are championing local businesses and celebrating their outstanding achievements.

360 business men and women, including judges, sponsors and some of Bury’s most high-profile professionals, attended the prestigious awards ceremony which took place at the Longfield Suite, Prestwich.

The evening featured a Prosecco drinks reception sponsored by BusinessLodge with guests being entertained by musicians from Holy Cross, a delicious three-course meal and amazing performances by singer Katie Bunting from School of Harts, Active Dance and a guest appearance from international opera star Sean Ruane.

Councillor Rishi Shori, leader of Bury Council, said: “It is always a huge pleasure to attend the annual Made in Bury awards, which go from strength to strength every year. Local businesses are vital to the health of our borough, creating jobs, bringing investment and fostering innovation and creativity, all of which helps make Bury a fantastic place in which to live, work and study. Skills, jobs and training are among my most important priorities for Bury, and I will work closely with our partners to bring about the very best outcomes. My heartiest congratulations to all the winners and nominees.”

Winners, Highly Commended and Commended across 20 categories, plus the Outstanding Achievement award, were announced by BBC Radio Manchester presenter Andy Crane, with businesses from all sectors and sizes rewarded for their success.

Now in their fifth year, the MIBBAs is the number one event in Bury's business calendar.
