Changes to local bus services are top of the agenda whenWhitefield and Unsworth Township forum meets on Tuesday 7 January.

Transport for Greater Manchester will be there to discuss concerns, particularly the re-routing of the 154 service. A representative Ring and Ride will also be there to talk about their services and how local residents can access them.

The forum will also hear from Bury Carers Service on the help they can offer people who care for their family and others, and there will also be updates from the police and the usual open forum for people to ask questions and raise matters of concern.

The meeting takes place at the Elms Community Centre in Green Lane, Whitefield, and starts at 1pm.

Councillor Joan Grimshaw, who will chair the meeting said: “I am sure that this meeting will be of great interest, in particular around the transport services available that serve Whitefield and Unsworth. Anyone who is a carer, or has caring responsibilities for another person, will find the presentation on the carers service invaluable. We hope that people will come along to the meeting which we hope will be a positive start to the New Year.”
