Plan for Change at Prestwich Township Forum

Bury Council’s spending plans will be top of the agenda when Prestwich Township Forum meets on Wednesday 13 November.

The council’s Plan for Change 3 consultation will outline how the authority needs to find millions more pounds in savings when it sets its budget over the next two years.

Also on the agenda is a presentation about Prestwich Works, operated by JCom on Bury New Road in Sedgley. Prestwich Works is funded from central government, via the council, to provide advice, training and help to get people ready for work and back into employment.

There will also be a police update and the usual open forum where members of the public can raise any questions of local concern.

The meeting is held at the Longfield Suite in Prestwich, starting at 6.30pm.

Councillor Paddy Heneghan, chair of Prestwich Township Forum, said: “I am sure that this meeting will be of great interest. The Plan for Change consultation is the only way that the council can realistically get the views of local people and understand which services are priorities for the local community. At a time when tough decisions have to be made it is vital to get the views of the people and organisations they represent in Prestwich.”
