Plenty to discuss at Whitefield and Unsworth Township Forum

A packed agenda awaits residents when Whitefield and Unsworth Township Forum meets on Tuesday 12 March at the Elms Centre starting at 6.30pm.

The meeting will include a range of presentations and discussion topics including:

  • Welfare reform - changes to welfare benefits from April 2013. This will include changes to council tax benefit, housing benefit, disability related benefits and the social fund
  • Recycling update - what has been achieved since October 2011 and the challenges ahead
  • StreetSafe - 20mph speed limits and zones

The meeting will also feature the usual open forum and public question time, and updates from the police. There will be a chance to speak to local police officers before the meeting, from 6pm.

Councillor Ken Audin, forum chair, said: “We hope that local residents will come along and join us at the meeting. The agenda is on important issues and we want to hear the views of local people.”
