​Radcliffe First win Radcliffe West by-election

Mike Smith won the Radcliffe West ward for the Radcliffe First party in today’s (Thursday 29 August) Bury Council by-election.

The result in full:

  • Anthony Clough (UKIP)…….50
  • Kingsley Jones (Liberal Democrat)…….113
  • Jordan Lewis (Conservative)…….283
  • Mike Smith (Radcliffe First)…….824
  • Jamie Walker (Labour)……708

The turnout was 23.4%. The line-up on Bury Council is now: Labour 28 seats, Conservatives 16, Liberal Democrats 4, Radcliffe First 2, and Independent 1.
