Rest room is a welcome addition for drivers

Coach drivers bringing visitors to Bury’s award-winning Market can now take a well-earned break in a new drivers’ lounge.

The facility has relaxing seating, widescreen TV and a hot drinks machine, and is open to all drivers. It is located in the Markets Management Office on the edge of the market. In addition, all coach drivers who visit the markets office and register will be given a £5 lunch voucher that can be redeemed at seven cafes on the market.

Markets manager Andrew Heyes said: “We are pleased to offer this new facility to drivers and hope that the room will be well used over the coming winter months. As we’ve already registered more than 1,000 coach visits this year, indications suggest it will prove popular with coach drivers.”
