Traders get first glimpse of new market hall
Traders on Radcliffe Market have been getting a sneak preview of the new £1 million refurbishment to the town’s market hall.
Local contractors HH Smith, who are carrying out the work, allowed the select band to don hard hats and go behind the scenes.
Radcliffe Market closed in April 2014 to undergo renovation which will include a new roof, new stalls, a picture window overlooking the river, a new cafe and new public toilets. The redevelopment is on schedule with works to be completed by middle of November 2014.
Existing traders are currently working from purpose built containers in the market square until the work is done. Mike Hall from Bell’s egg stall said: “The transformation is amazing, and it was good to see where my new stall is likely to be in the new market hall.”
