Clavister Solutions to Secure Brazilian Smart Cities

Clavister to develop secure wireless networks throughout 1600 locations in Brazil to deliver secure Smart Cities, securing data for up to 30million citizens

Swedish IT company Clavister (Nasdaq: CLAV), a leader in high-performance network security, has started working on a project in Brazil to help secure the country’s Smart Cities, with a focus on secure wireless networks at 1600 locations in the country.

The project aims to make the networks available to 30 million people and will be delivered in partnership with among others the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Saab.

Jim Carlsson, CEO at Clavister said: "In partnership with the Royal Institute of Technology, we will be an important partner for Brazil's investment in so-called Smart Cities to secure wireless networks for many of society's most important functions. The project, which is currently still in the planning stage, will eventually develop high performance wireless networks for the residents of Brazil's ' Smart Cities and ultimately will provide community services for up to 30 million inhabitants. This will also create substantial security issues which Clavister's unique next generation security solutions will be able to resolve, providing robust protection to the infrastructure."

With an ever increasing number of new smartphones, as well as the dramatic increase in IP - connected devices, the Internet of Things (IoT), and the growing adoption of these new technologies will require robust security of wireless networks.

Clavister's solutions have already been widely deployed by Brazilian authorities at regional and national levels.
