Judge calls for Fixed Fee divorces. Is not employed by us.

Great story in the Guardian: Divorcing couple spent nearly £1m on divorce – 1/3 of their assets

In it, the Judge calls for action on "the scandal of excessive costs and waste of time in such cases and calls for fixed pricing of litigation."

There's some finger-pointing and some excellent citations, but at the end of the day, the Judge recognizes that fixed fees are as good for solicitors as they are for clients since a client knowing what his fee will be is far more likely to NOT represent themselves than one with no ide of the costs.
