The Euroflorist Group acquires British competitor

Euroflorist operates in 12 European markets with the UK as its largest client base, followed by Sweden. In 2010, Euroflorist entered the UK market by acquiring the well-known UK company Teleflorist, later re-branded as eFlorist, with a network of approximately 1.500 florists and an e-commerce platform for flower deliveries.

iFlorist, majority owned by the US company 1-800- Flowers.com, Inc which is listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange, has been the third largest flower relay network in the UK with sites such as iflorist.co.uk, flowerfete.co.uk and ihampers.co.uk.

Through the acquisition of iFlorist, eFlorist will strengthen its online presence and increase order volumes by almost 30%, whilst simultaneously increasing the size of its florist network.

Laszlo Varga, CEO at Euroflorist states:

“We have had a fantastic growth in the UK the last four years and this deal makes us an even stronger competitor on the UK market. iFlorist has a good position in the business-to-business market which we now will have access to. Incorporating their e-commerce in our environment will have synergies that will increase our EBITDA very positively from start.”
