£44,000 raised at Midsummer Night's Ball

Thanks to the support and generosity of the Kent community, donors raised a staggering £44,180 at our  Midsummer Night’s Ball - the first of its kind for ellenor in West Kent.

The guests were treated to an unforgettable evening of fine Kentish wine, gourmet food and top class entertainment. Clive Emson, honorary auctioneer from Clive Emson Local Land and Property Auctioneers and a regular on BBC1’s property programme ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ electrified the room and encouraged full guest participation and bidding on items during the event’s live and silent auctions. Items included a fine dining experience stepping back in time on board one of the world’s most luxurious trains, the Belmond British Pullman train - sister to the world-famous Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, tickets for comedian Michael McIntyre at the O2 and Leda and the Swan – a stunning piece of modern art designed and made by Kent based stone makers Chilstone, shortlisted for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017 Product of the Year.

Deborah Richards, from Maddisons Residential said: ‘We were delighted to be one of the sponsors of the fabulous Midsummer Ball, held at the St Clere Estate. It was a lovely intimate event, at which we and our guests were truly spoilt with a fabulous evening in the most exceptional of settings, with first class entertainment, food and wine! ellenor is such an inspiring charity, close to mine and my husband's hearts, and the fact that the evening managed to raise so much money for this worthy cause was the icing on the cake’.

ellenor Chief Executive Claire Cardy said: “A very big thank you to everyone for giving so generously. Thank you to Clive Emson for providing his auction services free of charge and to everyone that donated prizes for our silent and main auctions. The money raised at the ball, and other events will make such a difference to those we care for across Kent.

The evening raised £44,180 which could pay for 11 children to receive two hours of respite care a week, for a whole year from an ellenor Children’s Healthcare Assistant.

Without the support of the local community, ellenor could not run its services and make a difference to local families”.
