ellenor’s biggest mass participation event in Gravesend aims to raise £75,000!

Twilight Walk is set to raise thousands of pounds for hospice care and we're calling on our local community to help us achieve this. All sponsorship money raised through the event will go towards care and support for patients, families and carers living with life limiting or terminal illness in Kent.

The Twilight Walk encourages everyone – women, men and children – to take part and help raise vital funds and awareness for ellenor. Last year, a record 1,176 people joined the walk. Participants can choose to take on the 8km or 12km route, whilst uniting with others to remember and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Twilight Walk and will be inviting everyone to join us on our walk, turning the streets of Gravesend orange in support of families facing terminal illness."

Together we will raise vital funds to enable ellenor to continue delivering crucial services to families in our community. £75,000 could provide over 3 years of medical supplies or roughly 800 chemotherapy at home sessions – but we can only achieve this with your support” – Emma Bowles, ellenor Senior Events Fundraiser.

Twilight Walk takes place on Friday 20 September at the Cyclopark in Gravesend. The evening starts at 6pm, and entry includes a special Twilight Walk t-shirt, a fun warm-up, refreshments and a Finisher’s medal. Those raising over £200 in sponsorship will receive a special #fundraisinghero water bottle! The Mayor of Gravesham, Councillor Gurdip Ram Bungar will open the event, and then join the crowds of people who have been affected by hospice care at this year’s Memory Walk.

"ellenor has a special place in the hearts of families and local residents of Northfleet and across North Kent for the care and support they give or have given many individuals and families facing life limiting or terminal illness including my own family with my late father. I look forward to joining the orange army of fundraisers on Friday 20 September for the 10th anniversary Twilight Walk where I hope we beat the record for participants and the record for raising even more funds for this excellent local charity to help continue the work they do” - Cllr Shane Mochrie-Cox, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Gravesham Borough Council.

Registration is at 6pm, and the Walk starts at 7pm. Entry costs £17.50 for adults over 18 years. Under 16s need to be accompanied with an adult, with their entry costing £12.50 Under 16s (closes on Wednesday 18 September). On the night registration costs £20 adults & £15 under 16s.
