ellenor involved in the Royal opening of Swanley Link

ellenor was very proud to be involved in the official opening of Swanley Link on Wednesday 6 July, which was attended by Prince Richard, the Duke of Gloucester, along with a number of local dignitaries and councillors, including the Mayor of Swanley.

Swanley Link is a one-stop shop for local residents to gain access to the town council, housing association, post office etc, plus organisations including ellenor. It’s been operating for nearly a year, but was officially unveiled with this special event.

ellenor has a presence at Swanley Link once a fortnight, offering either a drop-in (every four weeks) for queries, advice and information about the services it provides or a clinic (also every four weeks) for its local Swanley patients.

The Duke was introduced to Katherine Mobey, Premium Partnerships Manager at ellenor, who told him about the charity and the type of queries the team receives at Swanley Link. He was interested to find out why it is so beneficial for ellenor to have a presence in Swanley.

“For many people in Swanley, getting to the hospice in Gravesend can be difficult – so we are delighted to be able to bring ellenor to them in their community,” says Sarah Green, Senior Staff Nurse. “We provide 90% of our care out in the community and having a presence at Swanley Link has been extremely beneficial.”
