Stroll through a winter wonderland with ellenor’s Winter Walk

Sunday 17 December – Jeskyns Community Woodland, Cobham

Join ellenor for a festive ramble in the woods to unwind from all that Christmas shopping stress. By doing so, you could help us care for more people living with a terminal illness and their families. The hospice charity is encouraging people to bring along their family, friends and even their pooch to its Winter Walk on Sunday 17 December at Jeskyns Community Woodland, Cobham.

Ellenor is the only charitable service in the county to provide end-of-life, cancer and respite care to people of all ages in the hospice or in the comfort of their own home.

Emma Bowles, Events Fundraiser at ellenor says: “We are delighted to be hosting the Winter Walk at a brand new venue this year. With its beautiful landscape and family centric atmosphere, Jeskyns is the perfect spot for our festive walk, and we look forward to welcoming friends and families from across Kent. Last year we welcomed over 200 people to the event raising £3906.16 – which was just incredible. Hopefully 2017 will be even bigger!”

All walkers will receive their very own Santa hat before they are sent off on the trail at 10am with the option to walk or run the 5km through the wintery woodland. The course will be a mixture of gravel and grass surfaced paths and will be signed throughout with marshals at every 1km marker.

Levi Manwaring’s mother, Victoria Manwaring said: “Even at the end of Levi’s life I could never ask for the most perfect, kind hearted nurses to care for my son. We are doing this walk as we wanted to say thank you and raise some money so ellenor can continue carrying on with all their hard work”.

To sign up for ellenor’s Winter Walk, visit: www.ellenor.org/events. Admission: Adults £10.00. Children £5.00 and a family ticket costs £25.00.

In 2016, our Winter Walk raised £3906.16. Every walker helps us give people living with a terminal illness the care they need so they can make the most of the time with those they love.
