Tunbridge Wells biggest Teddy Bear needs a name!

This Christmas will see the return of Tunbridge Wells biggest Teddy Bear to Royal Victoria Place (RVP). The 3.5 metre giant bear was hugely loved last year with shoppers and their families posting and sharing selfies of themselves and donating money to support ellenor. In 2017, the #TeddySelfie campaign raised nearly £3,000 for ellenorcould pay for 90 play therapy sessions for very sick children across the Kent region.

This Christmas RVP wants to give its much loved teddy bear a special name, so is inviting local children to get creative and give it a name in aid of ellenor, a local charity bringing specialist hospice care to the child’s home, allowing families to spend more time together.

Katherine Barnes, ellenor Fundraising Manager says:” We are so grateful to Royal Victoria Place for choosing to support ellenor again this year through their ‘Name a Teddy Bear’ campaign. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to raise much needed funds and awareness of ellenor’s services in the local community. Don’t miss your opportunity to name the most famous bear in Tunbridge Wells; we can’t wait to hear your suggestions!

Children who wish to enter the bear naming competition can do so by sending their suggested name together with up to 50 words about why they chose the name to ellenor by Monday 29thOctober 2018 (see full details below). The winner will win a £50 RVP Gift Card plus a family VIP invitation to meet Santa and attend the Festive Family Fun Day at RVP on Sunday 18th November.

The Giant Teddy will be on display at RVP between Sunday 18th November and Christmas Eve and located on level 2 opposite French Connection.

Marc Burchett, Marketing Manager of Royal Victoria Place, says: “We are delighted to once again support ellenor and the vital work they do, after the success of our Teddy Selfie Campaign last year. Our Giant Teddy Bear was much loved by shoppers of all ages when he was here last Christmas, so we felt that it was appropriate for us to let local children have the chance to name him.”
