Walking tall for ellenor at BGC Charity Day

ellenor – which has been chosen as one of the charities to be supported at the forthcoming global BGC Charity Day – was on The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells this week promoting its involvement.

Anna-Marie Buss, artist and graphic designer at Kent-based graphic design agency, Bussroot, has stepped forward to support ellenor on Monday 12 September on her stilts and she’s set to bring some extra sparkle to the day and to entertain some of the families who have been specially invited.

Anna-Marie recently took a trip to The Pantiles – an area where ellenor provides vital end-of-life care to children in their own homes – to bring some magic to children and their families enjoying the early September sunshine.

“I wanted to support ellenor at the BGC Charity Day, as it’s a fantastic charity, providing hospice care to children in their own homes,” says Anna-Marie.

Every year, BGC Partners – a global financial brokerage – commemorates the loss of 719 of its employees in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre on 11 September 2001, by hosting its BGC Charity Day.

Kent hospice care charity ellenor has been chosen as one of only a very few local charities to be hand selected to take part in the BGC Charity Day, following a rigorous four month selection process.

This remarkable event sees a carefully selected group of good causes represented by hundreds of celebrity ambassadors, including actors, sports personalities and royalty, who take to the trading floors at BGC’s offices in Canary Wharf and around the world, to raise money for charity, with 100% of its global revenues on the day being donated.

In addition to Willy Wonka, ellenor will be represented on the day by TV property expert Phil Spencer, ITV’s Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins, Tom Parker of platinum-selling boy band The Wanted, BBC Journalist and presenter Chris Hollins, England and Kent cricketer James Tredwell, and Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox, star of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

“I’m really excited at the prospect of supporting a charity that is so close to my heart, and can’t wait to get on the trading floor to put my negotiating skills to the test and raise lots of money for the children and families ellenor cares for,” says ellenor Ambassador, Phil Spencer.
