ESVAGT to service Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm

Press release -

ESVAGT to service Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm

ESVAGT continues to consolidate its activities in the offshore wind energy market.

Just before Christmas, ESVAGT signed a contract for servicing the offshore wind farm, ’Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm’, an approximately 400 MW offshore wind farm off the east coast of England. From autumn 2016, the wind farm will be serviced by an ESVAGT SOV (Service Operation Vessel) that has been specially designed for the purpose.

The contract, which runs for five years plus options, is, according to ESVAGT’s CEO Søren Nørgaard Thomsen, ’significant’:

”We are proud that Statoil, as the operator of the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm, shows us the confidence and belief in both our concept and skills”, says Søren Nørgaard Thomsen.

The right strategy

In recent years, ESVAGT has focused on establishing itself in offshore wind. At the beginning of 2015, two newly built ESVAGT vessels will start servicing the ’Baltic 2’ and ’Butendiek’ offshore wind farm and with the Dudgeon Wind Farm, ESVAGT now has four significant contracts for offshore wind servicing vessels.

To Søren Nørgaard Thomsen, this confirms that ESVAGT has chosen the right strategy:

”Our targeted commitment to offshore wind has proven to be correct and we are looking forward to establishing ourselves further in this business area”, says Søren Nørgaard Thomsen.

The new contract is expected to mean about 40 new jobs at ESVAGT.
