£100 off all cycling holidays booked during the Tour de France opening weekend

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France, adventure tour operator Exodus is offering cyclists the chance to save £100 on all cycling holidays booked during the tour’s opening weekend (29 June – 1 July). With a 35% increase in interest across their worldwide cycling holidays over the past year, Exodus offers a range of trips to suit any ability, from leisurely self-guided routes to challenging alpine rides which follow the same climbs as the pros.

Exodus’ cycling programme manager, Andy Ross, commented: “This centenary Tour de France deserves to be celebrated in style! There has never been a better time to get pedaling, whether by embarking on that first cycling trip or by pushing existing skills on a challenging ride. Anyone can earn the same sense of achievement as Wiggins crossing that finish line with these cycling holidays.”

Here is a selection of Exodus cycling holidays:

Mont Ventoux cycling weekend

Cyclists will tackle Mont Ventoux, the famous 'Giant of Provence', on this challenging four-night cycling holiday. Cyclists will warm up on a lovely, quiet route from Sault to Montbrun, climbing the Col de Macuègne, before attempting the Mont Ventoux, which is set to feature in the Tour de France this July, the following day. Gluttons for punishment can also register to try and join the 'Club des Cingles du Ventoux', founded in 1988 and created for 'madmen' who attempt to climb from all three directions in one day. Those wishing to rest their legs can also choose from less strenuous options. Takes place 2-6 October 2013. Priced at £629 per person (a saving of £100), including flights, accommodation and breakfasts.

Cycle the Camino de Santiago

Exodus takes cyclists on one of the world's oldest pilgrimage routes with this moderate level eight day trip. The ride begins in the charming city of Leon before crossing the Castillan plains, gradually climbing to the highest point of the trip, the 'Iron Cross' (1505m), in the mountain range of Leon. Before entering the gastronomic region of Galicia we visit the beautiful village of Castrillo de los Polvazares, before completing this ancient tradition at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Next departure 20 July 2013. Priced from £1,029 per person (a saving of £100) for eight days including flights, accommodation and most meals.

Cycling Cuba

This cultural cycling holiday follows a route that will take in all the must-see places that Cuba is famous for: the crumbling colonial buildings of Havana, the music of Trinidad and the revolutionary history of Santiago. Passing through stunning countryside with a patchwork of plantations, fields and jungle, cyclists will be able to appreciate the traditional way of life that continues today. Next departure 8 August. Prices start from £2,219 per person, including return flights f transfers, accommodation, tours and most meals.

Cycle Southern Iceland

Iceland’s network of country roads provides cyclists with an excellent framework, giving access to some of the most impressive sites in the south of the country. The moderately paced, undulating route gives a firsthand view of some of mother nature's most fearsome creations, including the infamous Eyafjallajokull Volcano, the colourful mountains of Landmannalaugar and the 25m high mass of thundering water known as the Skogafoss Waterfall. Cyclists will contrast these towering sites with the rolling farmland of the interior and the vast plains of glacial silt along the coast. Next departure 6 July 2013. Priced from £1,899 (a saving of £100) per person for eight days including flights, accommodation and most meals.

Alpine cols of the Tour de France

From the charming Italian town of Cuneo, Exodus cyclists will warm up on a few lesser-known cols before heading back into France in search of some of the most iconic climbs in cycling history. The first big challenge is the Col de la Bonnette, at 2802m the highest in Europe. From here the legendary climbs come in quick succession as cyclists make their way across the spectacular Alps, over the cols of Vars, Izoard, Galibier and Croix de Fer. The route finishes with the famous 21 hairpins bends to Alpe d'Huez – a memorable finish to a memorable cycling holiday. Takes place 15 – 22 September 2013. Priced at £1,249 per person, including flights, accommodation and most meals.
