FACOM expands and improves range of 170A Series Multi-grip pliers

FACOM has expanded and improved its 170A Series Multi-grip pliers portfolio for automotive and industrial professionals completing tasks such as vehicle and machinery maintenance. The three new models in the latest range have been introduced to offer users a higher level of torsional strength, accuracy and durability when tightening and unfastening small and larger components including bolts, screws and pipes.

Designed and manufactured to FACOM’s highest quality standards at its production facility in Laissey, France, the Multi-grip pliers, which come in 180mm (170A.18), 250mm (170A.25) and 300mm (170A.35) lengths, feature an innovative and patented rack and pinion mechanism. It has been engineered to increase the travel of the play-free forged treated rivet through the rack, which is also up to 50% more durable. This thereby supplies better slot engagement and fewer blocking points, without any loss of time when making adjustments.

With up to eight different operating positions*, this allows professionals to handle larger objects with a more accurate fit, and with greater force. Furthermore, the self-gripping teeth on the wear-resistant and hardened jaws provide a reduced risk of slippage and user injury, particularly when working with circular surfaces.

The PVC coated and more ergonomic handles of the new 170A Series Multi-grip pliers have been forged so as to give added comfort and grip during extended periods of use. This is coupled with the ability to apply a higher degree of pressure during tightening or unfastening applications. The internal shape of the handles has equally been profiled to avoid the pinching of fingers when the jaws are closed.
