Faerch establishes new Board of Directors
The European manufacturer of innovative plastic packaging for the food industry, Faerch, has established a new Board of Directors. Nils Smedegaard Andersen, former Group Chief Executive Officer of A.P. Moller Maersk, is appointed as new Chairman. Sönke Renk, CEO Homann, Germany and Markus Brettschneider, Group SVP/Global Head of Sales at ABB Group, US are elected Board members and Ronald Marsh, former CEO of RPC Group in UK, continues his seat on the Board.Faerch holds a leading position within rigid plastic packaging for the food industry. The company develops, designs and produces innovative and high-quality packaging for the Ready Meal, Food to Go and Fresh Meat markets.
Commenting on his new position as Chairman, Nils Smedegaard Andersen says: “I am very pleased to join the Board as Chairman. I am impressed with the company’s strong operational setup, its innovation platform and its work within the sustainability area. The company already uses 100% renewable energy and continuously works to increase the share of recycled plastic in product formulas. I look forward to working with the Board and Management to continue the strong development of the company.”
A strategy to accelerate growth
The appointments follow the sale of Faerch to Advent International in August 2017. Ranjan Sen, Managing Partner at Advent International, states: “Faerch has an outstanding reputation in the market and a strong operational set-up with long-term prospects. I feel confident that the strong competencies of the new Board will help to further accelerate Faerch’s growth and the strategy to expand internationally.”
