Our featured job of the week is for an NHS Client who are looking to appoint an Interim Director of Commissioning in London.

Responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for delivery of a professional and effective commissioning function which serves the local population, to transform care and secure nationally mandated quality of service for local people;
• Lead on Contracting including performance management and procurement, to secure value for money and ensure continuous quality improvement and transformation of local services;
• Deliver a proficient and safe service within the Directorate (and with the input of external advisors as appropriate) to secure redesigned services through effective procurement and market management interventions and developing plans which optimise the cooperation and competition that will serve local patients;

A successful candidate will have:

• Worked at Director level within the NHS in a Commissioning function;
• Expert knowledge of the Commissioning cycle and its application;
• Familiar with the main sources of NHS activity information including SUS-SEM, with SLAM and with good practice in NHS performance including RTT
