Caribbean Cruise Highlights

Ahh, the Caribbean… Sun, sea, sand and cocktails are just a few of the things we associate with this world-famous region of relaxation that consists of more than 700 idyllic islands. A favourite amongst holidaymakers from all over the world, the Caribbean is perfect for those who are looking to get away from it all and recharge their batteries in seaborne serenity.

With so many islands and beautiful locations, choosing where to go may seem a little daunting at first. Well, to be honest you can’t go wrong! Beaches, blue waters, vibrant culture and good times are plentiful wherever you go, but if you’re looking for some inspiration, here’s what we would recommend:

Caribbean and Cuba M1503

Hop on board Braemar and embark on a two week cruise that treats you to a selection of beautiful Caribbean islands, including Grenada, St. Lucia, Barbados and Cuba. From the familiar feel of Bridgetown and its miles of beaches through to the world-famous markets of St Lucia, there’s so much to see and do. If you want to experience something truly special, take a trip to Havana, Cuba – a privilege not awarded to most cruise ships!

Amazon River Adventure M1603

Take a trip down the world’s largest river and experience one of the planet’s most diverse ecosystems, featuring over half the world’s flora and fauna in dense rainforests. This trip is one for the adventurous and takes guests through four river ports where they will partake in journeys through dense forest trails, wildlife spotting and tours around local communities. Guests also have the opportunity to witness the Boi Bumba folk festival – the second largest in Brazil after Rio Carnival - where they can shop at the floating market and experience the vibrant and colourful party atmosphere.

Mayan Temples and Panama Canal M1602

If rainforests and festivals aren't your thing, the Mayan Temples and Panama Canal cruise is perfect if you're looking for a good balance between culture and relaxation. For two weeks you will cruise the waters around Jamaica, Mexico, Belize, Colombia, Panama and more, exploring shrines, temples, ancient Mayan ruins and natural splendour. Shop in the bustling markets of Belize, visit the walled city of Centro Amurallado in Columbia and kick back on the beautiful beaches of Aruba.

Canaries Christmas & Caribbean New Year M1533

What better way to celebrate Christmas and end the year than on board Braemar as she makes her way from Tenerife towards the Caribbean. Visit seven different ports over fifteen nights of cruising perfection, stopping off at the award-winning markets of St. Lucia, the tropical rainforests of Dominica and the old towns of St. Kitts before welcoming 2016 on Antigua’s incredible beaches.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
