It's that time of year again, and there are plenty of fang-tastic activities around the region for families to enjoy. Have a look at our spooktacular guide and see what takes your fancy!

Halloween Evenings at Beamish Museum 
– 23, 25, 26, 30 and 31 October

  • Are you ready for a fright night to remember at Beamish Museum’s Halloween Evenings? Experience a spooktacular evening of tricks and treats as Beamish is transformed into The Un-living Museum of the North.

Lights Out in Sunderland – 25 October until 3 November

  • It will be Lights Out at the city of lights, as Sunderland prepares to welcome the spookiest festival the region has ever seen. From 25 October to 3 November the city will be alive with things that go bump in the night, scary installations and a range of family-frightening activities.

Life Science Centre 
– spooky, gory and gross fun from 19 October until 3 November

  • Get spooky this October half-term with uncanny science, slime workshops and more. There's Halloween fun for all the family including gore, illusion, craft and mystery!

Ghost Train at Tanfield Railway 
– 26 and 27 October

Seven Stories Ghost Tour 
– 24 and 31 October

  • The Seven Stories building is over 150 years old and has been many things; from a steam powered flax mill to a wine merchant’s store. The people who worked there have long since gone… or have they?

– 20 October until 3 November

Spooky Night at Discovery Museum 
– 31 October

  • Calling all little monsters, ghosts and ghouls, Discovery Museum's Halloween party is set to be truly spooktacular! Head to the museum in your best Halloween dress for a frighteningly fun evening. Activities will include bewitching tales, creepy crafts, devilish disco, ghoulish games and more!

– 24 October until 3 November
