Appeal after 9-year-old girl assaulted in Portsmouth

Officers are appealing for information after a 9-year-old girl was assaulted in Portsmouth.

At around 3.30pm on Wednesday, 27 March the girl was walking along Goldsmith Avenue when she was approached from behind by a man who slapped her in the face.

She suffered bruising and swelling as a result of the assault.

The man is described as: Asian, aged 30 to 40 and between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins.

PC Matthew Campbell, said: “This was an unprovoked attack where a young girl has been assaulted.We need to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who thinks they may know who was responsible. If you have any information, please get in touch with us on 101 quoting 44190106410.”
