200 fundraisers join London Luton Airport's Runway Run

More than 200 people have taken part in London Luton Airport's (LLA) annual Runway Run to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support on May 18.

Participants were able to run, walk or jog either a 5 or 10k course around the airport perimeter track alongside the runway.

Races were held hourly between 9am and 4pm with prizes awarded to the top three fastest men and women, fastest team and top fundraiser.

The event which was open to the public and not just airport employees was held to raise funds for LLA's charity partner for 2018/19 Macmillan Cancer Support.

LLA's Responsible Business Manager Chika Austin said: "The event is always extremely popular and there's a great atmosphere, as it's not often you get the chance to run alongside one of the country's busiest runways. We are really grateful to everyone who took part  in the event and helped us raise vital funds and awareness for such a good cause."
